Reclaiming Your Power After Divorce

Full disclosure; recently I had to have some photos taken for a media publication and I was still fighting that 'voice' inside my head every time I got in front of the camera.

Post separation our internal 'critic' whispers bigger doubts, points out flaws, and loves to replay every 'mistake'. We all have one and it's not always bad - it can protect us and push us to improve - but when you're going through something traumatic, it gets loud and can hold us back.

Here’s the truth:

You can choose not to let your inner critic run the show. Dial down the volume.

 Next time it speaks up:

1. Pause and listen. Is it trying to protect you?

2. Challenge it. Would you talk to a friend this way?

3. Replace it. Speak to yourself with kindness and love.

I've learned lots of tips & tricks along the way, on how to find strength in challenging situations.

One of the first steps to reclaiming your power after divorce is to rediscover yourself. Take this time to reflect on who you are as an individual, outside of your day to day 'roles'. What are your passions, your dreams, your values? Reconnecting with yourself will lay the foundation for a fulfilling and authentic life moving forward.

Next, it is essential to focus on self-care. Divorce can take a toll on your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Prioritize activities that nourish your soul, whether it's yoga, journaling, painting, or simply taking a long bath. Remember, self-care is not selfish - it is a necessary investment in your overall well-being.

Building a support system is also crucial during this time. Surround yourself with friends, family members, or a therapist who can provide encouragement, guidance, and a listening ear when you need it most. Remember, it's okay to ask for help – you don't have to go through this alone.

Lastly, embrace the opportunity for growth and transformation. While divorce may feel like the end of the road, it can also be a new beginning. Take this time to set new goals, explore new interests, and create the life you've always dreamed of. Remember, you have the power to write your own story and create a future that is bright and fulfilling.

Reclaiming your power after divorce is a journey, but with the right support and mindset, it is possible to not only survive but thrive. I am here to support you every step of the way.

Remember, you are strong, you are resilient, and you have the power to create the life you deserve.
